Create your first short link
- Open Short links in your workspace and choose “Create short link”. You can also start with a destination in the public URL shortener.
- Add a Link name and a public Destination URL. The name helps you find the link in your workspace.
- Choose the Short address. The default domain is nilo.my/s; a connected branded domain can be selected before saving.
- Optionally add a description, comma-separated tags, or an expiry. Expiry is entered in your current time zone.
- Choose “Save link”, then use Copy or Share on the saved link. Opening the form alone does not create a link.
Update the destination without changing the address
Open Edit on a saved link to update its destination, name, description, tags, active state, or expiry. Its short address and domain stay fixed after creation.
Tags organize your own collection. Search by a name, address, destination, description, or tag, then use status and sorting controls to narrow the list.
Pause, expire, archive, or restore a link
Turn Active off to pause a link, or set an expiry for a time-limited destination. A paused, expired, or archived address stops redirecting to the destination.
Archive moves a link out of the Current view while keeping its address reserved. Choose Archived in the status filter to find and restore it. After restoring, check its expiry before sharing again.
Share one block from your published profile
In your profile editor, open a block’s options and choose “Share block”. The link opens that block on its published page, including its published page tab.
Choose “Create short link” to review a new short-link form for that public block. Sharing uses the published title and page, so private draft edits are not exposed. A block that is unpublished, hidden, inactive, or unavailable cannot be shared this way.
Review the activity for one link
Choose Insights on a saved link to open the report filtered to that resource. Counts include repeat opens and are limited to the available 90-day reporting window; they do not identify unique people.
Campaign query parameters on a shared address can help distinguish placements. Keep campaign labels descriptive and avoid putting personal information in URLs. When a browser does not provide a referrer, NILO does not guess one.
Questions about this guide
Can I use a domain I already own?
Yes, after ownership, routing, and HTTPS are active in Branded domains. A TXT ownership record alone does not make a domain ready. If hosting activation is outstanding, use a NILO address while the connection is completed.
Does my public profile have to be live?
No. Standalone short links are independent of profile publication. A short link to a specific profile block does require that block’s published public page to be available.
Can another person claim my archived short address?
Archiving retains the saved address for its workspace. Restore the existing link rather than creating another one with that address.
